Basic science majors aim to foster young scientists in basic science through world-leading research in which internationally-recognized faculty members participate in an optimal research environment equipped with an outstanding research infrastructure. These majors provide in-depth curriculums, particularly in the following research areas conducted by the IBS HQ Centers: cognition and sociality, genome engineering in the field of life sciences; underground physics, theoretical physics of the universe, and theoretical physics of complex systems in the field of physics, etc.
